ℹ️ Recruitment for the Glossop Cohort has been extended until December - We're looking for young people particularly from the Glossopdale and New Mills areas. ![]()
This group is for 13 to 18-year-olds and is held on Wednesday evenings during term-time - recruits will be taking part in social action projects and local initiatives aimed at giving you a real insight into policing.. ![]()
So if you know of a young person who may be interested in developing a spirit of adventure and good citizenship then please read on!.
👮 Senior Cadets - you must be aged between 13 and 18 (Academic years 9 to 13 as of September 2025) to apply to join the Cadets. 👮 Becoming a police cadet will give you a real insight into policing and encourage your spirit of adventure. 👮 And, even if you don't go on to join the constabulary (although we hope you will), you’ll definitely become a more confident and socially aware young adult. 👮 Glossop Cadets meet on Wednesday evenings between 7 pm – 9 pm at The Cadet Centre, Fauvel Rd, Glossop SK13 7DW
As well as experiencing the different areas of policing such as task force, dog section, roads policing and other operational teams, you'll also be supported in attaining additional qualifications such as the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Gutted you're too old? Our cadet sessions can't take place without the work completed by our volunteer cadet leaders! If you want to get stuck into all the things our cadets do and support them in their development, then a leader is the role for you!
